Jim Bradeen
Associate Vice President for Spur Strategy

Dr. Jim Bradeen serves as associate vice president for CSU Spur strategy, facilitating Fort Collins campus activities as CSU’s local senior leader at Spur and working closely with CSU Spur campus leadership and stakeholders across the larger Denver-Metro community. He is responsible for operations and communications for CSU Fort Collins at the CSU Spur campus, serving as a liaison for Spur-based activities for all eight CSU colleges, as well as the Office of the Vice President for Research, Office of Engagement and Extension, and other divisions and units. Dr. Bradeen is a professor in the Department of Agricultural Biology in the College of Agricultural Sciences at CSU.

Dr. Bradeen came to CSU from the University of Minnesota, where he’s served as a professor and head of the Department of Plant Pathology for nearly nine years. He was the founder and co-director of the Stakman-Borlaug Center, part of the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.

Albert Y. Bimper Jr., PhD.
Interim Chief of Staff

Dr. Albert Bimper serves as the Interim Chief of Staff of the University and Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts. In the role of interim chief of staff, Dr. Bimper serves as the interface with Interim President Miranda and executive and senior leadership as well as many key internal and external stakeholders to the institution. He is tasked with managing high-priority projects and programs designed to support institutional goals and achieve the University’s mission and strategic vision across multiple divisions. Dr. Bimper completed his Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Cultural Studies in Education at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a M.S. in Health & Kinesiology from Purdue University and a B.S. in Health & Exercise Science from Colorado State University. Dr. Bimper’s administrative experience spans several areas including academic affairs, intercollegiate athletics, student affairs, and as director of multiple academic programs. While attending CSU, he was a four-year starter as a student-athlete and helped lead his Rams teams to three bowl games in his career. He played in 39 games and started 37, earning All-Mountain West recognitions and went on to become a part of the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts in 2006.

Somer Gomez is the receptionist for the Office of the President. She provides administrative support for the office staff as well as assistance to internal and external constituents of the University. Somer is an alumna of the University.

Wayne Hall manages the IT needs of the Office of the President, Office of the Provost, and CSU System offices. He has served in CSU several roles, most recently with Academic Computing and Networking Services (ACNS) where he partnered with the Linux System Admin group and the Middleware group. Wayne is an alumnus of CSU, earning his Master’s degree from the College of Business and three graduate certificates (Project Management, CIS, and Business Intelligence).

Wayne is also serves as Vice Chair of the Classified Personnel Council, an elected position.

Jean Jenes serves as Associate Chief of Staff for the Office of the President. She has been a member of the President’s Office staff since 1994 and currently manages office staff and operations. She is responsible for oversight of budgets, human resources, and office and division projects.

Emily Lewis serves as the Executive Assistant to the President. Prior to joining the President’s Office, Emily held various roles within the Office of the Provost at West Virginia University. She has experience with project coordination, executive-level support, and accreditation.

Scott Shrake

Scott Shrake serves as executive director of CSU’s Institute for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, business development, and commercialization for students, faculty, and community members across Northern Colorado. He also oversees the College of Business executive education program, helping create cutting-edge programing in areas where CSU is world class. In the classroom, he serves as an affiliate faculty member for the Richardson Design Center, teaching introductory and capstone courses in Design Thinking. Scott earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh’s Sustainability and Green Design Group. Outside work, Scott enjoys biking the Colorado mountains or spending time outdoors with his wife and their dogs.
